Its form combines functionality with timeless aesthetics. The poncho has a practical hood that increases comfort on colder days, making the Canelo model an excellent choice as a poncho for fall or winter. The thickness of the fiber does not detract from its elegance — on the contrary, it gives it a noble, raw character that beautifully harmonizes with both everyday and more sophisticated styles.
The Canelo poncho stands out with its distinct, strong structure, thanks to which it keeps its shape well and fits harmoniously on the figure. It is an ideal choice for women who value not only craftsmanship but also practicality. This is a poncho for women who do not like to choose between comfort and aesthetics. This model shows that massiveness can go hand in hand with elegance, and that natural fiber can give clothing a uniqueness that is difficult to achieve with synthetic materials.
The natural color palette, derived exclusively from untwisted, undyed wool, gives each poncho its own unique shade. The subtle differences resulting from the sheep’s habitat — lighter colors from the south, deeper tones from the north of the Andes — create a subtle, organic mosaic that cannot be replicated in mass production. It is this authentic character that makes Canelo more than just a garment — it is a small piece of Andean culture that becomes even more beautiful over the years.
Each Canelo piece is made entirely by hand from wool prepared using traditional methods. Craftsmen devote many hours to creating a poncho with a solid, compact construction, while also paying attention to aesthetic details such as fringes and hood finishes. It is a true combination of tradition and modern functionality — the perfect warm hooded poncho that can successfully replace a cardigan, cape, or light jacket.

Our ponchos are entirely handmade from natural, undyed wool. Each piece is unique, and slight differences in shade and size (±1 cm) are due to the organic nature of the fibers and the artisanal production process. The color of the wool is directly related to the place where the sheep come from — those living in the southern regions of the Andes produce lighter, cooler tones, while sheep from the warmer northern regions have wool with deeper, more saturated shades. It is these subtle differences that mean no two ponchos are identical — each one is a small work of art, carrying with it the history of Andean traditions.

Canelo, also known as Winter’s Bark, is a species of tree native to the Andean regions of South America, particularly important in Chile and Argentina. This evergreen tree has played an important role in the culture and medicine of indigenous peoples for centuries, especially among the Mapuche community. Traditional healers and spiritual guides—Machi—often use it in their practices, attributing powerful healing and spiritual properties to it. They believe that Canelo helps treat illnesses, cleanse negative energies, and restore inner balance, making it a symbol of renewal and protection.
